1. Who we are and what these terms cover
Life Science Work (lifesciencework.ch) is operated by Morfeo Technologies OÜ, c/o TuneUp OÜ, Pärnu mnt 139b, 11317 Tallinn, Estonia ("we", "us"). These terms apply to every employer or other organisation ("you") that creates an account, publishes a job posting or buys a plan on Life Science Work. The refund policy and the privacy policy form part of these terms.
Life Science Work is a service for businesses. By posting you confirm that you act for a company or other organisation, not as a consumer. Candidates who search and apply for jobs do not buy anything and are not bound by these terms; their data is covered by the privacy policy.
2. The service
We publish your job posting on Life Science Work for the period of the option you choose, show it in search and filters, include it in job alert emails, and make it available in our public job feeds, which search engines and other sites may read. Depending on the option, a posting may be featured above other results. What each option includes is described on the pricing page at the time you buy it.
Candidates apply either on the employer's own website, by email, or through the form on Life Science Work. Applications made through our form are forwarded to your contact email address and are available in your dashboard for 180 days.
We do not promise any number of views, applications or hires.
3. Your account
You sign in with a single-use link sent to your email address. Whoever controls that mailbox controls the account, so keep it secure and tell us straight away if you believe someone else has access to it.
4. What you may post
Each posting must describe a real, open position that you are hiring for, or that you are authorised to recruit for on the employer's behalf. You are responsible for its content, and you confirm that it:
- is accurate and not misleading, including about the employer, location, conditions and pay;
- complies with the law, including anti-discrimination and equal treatment law, and does not exclude candidates on grounds such as sex, origin, religion, age, disability or sexual orientation unless the law allows it;
- does not ask candidates for money, and is not a pyramid, multi-level marketing or commission-only scheme presented as employment;
- does not infringe anyone's rights, including in the logo and text you upload.
Your posting is published as soon as it has been paid for. We do not check it beforehand, so the confirmations above are the only assurance anyone has that it is genuine. We do review postings after publication, and we may remove one, or ask you to change it, if in our reasonable judgement it does not meet these terms or does not fit the subject of Life Science Work. What happens to your payment in each case is set out in the refund policy.
How we moderate. Anyone can report a posting with the "Report this listing" link on it. We look at every report, and at postings we come across ourselves, by hand; no automated system decides. We may remove a posting, or refuse to publish it, if it is illegal or breaks these terms, and we may close the account of anyone who repeatedly posts such content. When we remove or refuse a posting we tell you by email, with the reason and the rule it breaks, and you can reply to contest the decision, which we then review again. We tell the person who reported a posting what we decided.
Job notification duty in Switzerland. For occupations with an unemployment rate above the threshold set by SECO, Swiss law requires vacancies to be notified to the regional employment office (RAV) first and not published elsewhere for five working days. You are responsible for complying with this before you post such a vacancy here.
5. Applications and candidate data
When a candidate applies through Life Science Work, you receive their personal data for the purpose of that recruitment. From that point you are responsible for it as a controller in your own right: you must handle it lawfully, keep it secure, use it only for recruitment, and delete it when you no longer need it.
6. Prices and payment
The prices on the pricing page apply at the time you order. Prices are in CHF and exclude VAT. Morfeo Technologies OÜ is not registered for VAT. The place of supply is where the customer is established, so no Estonian VAT is charged. Swiss customers account for acquisition tax (Bezugsteuer, Art. 45 MWSTG) where they are liable to do so. EU business customers account for VAT under the reverse charge (Art. 196, Council Directive 2006/112/EC). Payment is due when you submit a posting and is taken by our payment provider, Mollie B.V. You receive a payment confirmation from Mollie and an invoice from us by email, which you can also download from your dashboard at any time.
Because your posting is published immediately on payment, the service is performed in full at that moment and you have no right to cancel the order afterwards. There is no cooling-off period and no refund once a posting is live. The limited cases in which we do refund are listed in the refund policy.
A bundle is paid for once and gives you a fixed number of postings to publish when you choose. Each posting is published at the option named in the bundle and runs for that option's number of days. Postings you have not used lapse 365 days after payment and are not refunded or extended after that. A bundle is not a subscription and is never charged again.
7. Publication and duration
A posting goes live when it has been submitted and paid for, which happens within seconds and is not reversible, and stays live for the number of days of the option you bought, counted from publication. It then closes automatically. A closed posting stays reachable at its address, clearly marked as closed, and is removed from search; you can ask us to take it down entirely. You can edit or close your own postings from your dashboard.
8. Availability
We aim to keep Life Science Work available at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Maintenance, faults and events outside our control can make it unavailable for a time.
9. Liability
We are liable without limitation for damage caused intentionally or through gross negligence. Otherwise, to the extent the law allows, our liability is limited to the amount you paid for the posting or plan concerned, and we are not liable for indirect damage, lost profit, or the content of postings and applications, which come from employers and candidates. You are liable to us for claims by third parties arising from the content you publish.
10. Changes
We may change these terms for future orders. The version in force when you place an order applies to that order. For a plan, we tell you about material changes by email at least 30 days before they take effect, and you may cancel before then.
11. Law and jurisdiction
These terms are governed by Estonian law, excluding its conflict of laws rules and the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. The courts of Tallinn, Estonia (Harju County Court) have exclusive jurisdiction.
